Team introduction
Based in Osaka, Evessa belongs to the first division of the professional basketball B.League.
“Evessa” comes from Ebessan (or Ebisu), the god of business prosperity and one of the Seven Lucky Gods. The team was thus named with the hopes of invigorating Osaka, a city known for its warm-heartedness, laughter, and business spirit.

Evessa plays a running game with rapid-fire offense.
It is also characterized by its dynamic dunks.

ABOUT 2 Team aspirations and goals

The 2020–21 season slogan is “Break through.” Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are all facing unprecedented difficulties. Everyone involved with Osaka Evessa will “break through” the barriers created by such difficulties, and the team, comprising a diversity of cultures and young players, represents a brave new force whose aim is to make a name for itself in the basketball world.

Maido-kun

Maido-kun
Team mascot Maido-kun’s idol is Ebessan, the god of business prosperity, and he is hard at work trying to become a “basketball god.”
Although just a child, he is an amazing athlete, and his constant positive energy makes him popular among all Osakans. His trademark look is a hood in the team’s red color, and his big lucky ears.
He will continue in his fight to bring good luck to Osaka Evessa.

Rei Goda

No. 20, Rei Goda
Young team captain Rei Goda is a native of Osaka.
He has a positive attitude on and off the court that inspires and leads his team.
