Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium
The motif of this building is two green hills. Its main arena of 110 m in diameter and all other facilities are located underground. The semi-underground building containing multipurpose spaces is a unique construction, rarely seen in the world. The main arena has a floor area of 3,580 ㎡ and a maximum seating capacity of 10,000, installed with large video screens and other equipment.
The gymnasium is very popular as the center of sports in Osaka, and has hosted many international sporting events such as the FIVB Volleyball World Cup.
